The loftiest and most enchanting blessing is to acquire the gift of guidance—to become believers in the new Revelation. Next to this, the most blessed bounty is to grant that gift to others. The enlightening of one soul, the Master declares, is like the enlightening of a hundred thousand souls. For each person teaches others, and others teach others, year after year, decade after decade. Thus through our spiritual descendants we continue to live for evermore.
This is a grace and a bounty that will never again be granted to us. For we are told repeatedly: Now is the time of planting; the future is for the harvest. What we miss now, Bahá’u’lláh assures us, we will not be able to regain in countless centuries.
